I met Ian about 40 years ago when he organized a A$500k lease back on a piece of plant in my family company, manufacturing laundry detergent & insect killer for the Australian consumer market, after which Ian organized many more leases for us.

Some years later I started buying IGA supermarkets.   Ian then organized the finance for these acquisitions by way of lease backs on the equipment in the supermarkets I was buying.

After exiting the supermarket business I formed a company ReMin to develop a mineral based soil additive that could replace super phosphate.

Ian managed the Australian company in Sydney and research farm at Trangie NSW Australia.  The business has grown to serve a substantial international market.

It is great to have someone like Ian to not only help get a business off the ground but also being able to manage and grow it.

I own a security company in Sydney.  I first met Ian socially at a Sydney business community event.  Ian organised several leases for us and I was impressed with how he operated so when an opportunity arose we went into partnership with Ian on a new venture, ‘Backpackers Afloat’. The business provided a floating backpacker’s accommodation facility.   Ian put together the business and bank package to enable us to buy the boat.

I also asked Ian to do a financial analysis on my security business and thereafter he joined the company as the CFO.  Having great trust in his integrity and business accumen I later appointed him as CEO.   Ian also, with the support of my advisers, restructured the company which has expanded considerably to a successful, profitable business.

As former proprietor of a boutique hotel, The SWISS LODGE, in central Bangkok, I had engaged Ian Brierley to restructure our existing loan for the business in 1997 in conjunction with making renovations.

Ian completed his due diligence, prepared a workable cash flow into the Financial Plan on a large spreadsheet and presented it to the vice president of Laem Thong Bank.

In quick succession, Ian negotiated not only to get our debt refinanced but went further and secured it in US $ which, at the time, was far cheaper to service.
